Working Hours at Beca New Zealand

8.3
8.3 rating for Working Hours, based on 27 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Depends on your team, but I find it reasonably flexible. As long as you complete your contracted hours in the day, you can start and end a bit later/earlier or take more breaks etc. There is an expectation that everyone should be available during the core central hours of the day though since collaboration is required on a lot of our projects.

I work a 40 hr week and can spend up to two das at home if I'd like. However, i prefer to work in the office so may spend 1 day at home to save money on petrol.

We are on flexible working hours, so it is not too stressful in terms of getting to work in the morning.

We can work from home a day or so a week.

I work usually more than 40 hours a week. This is due to commuting to a site that is accounted for in my hours. I choose to work extra hours by choice as I am compensated for it. My team lead has said that he doesn't expect me to complete 40 hours of chargeable work despite commuting out. Flexibility is available as I know multiple people who work reduced hours, at my career level less common, but common when people have had injuries, e.g. concussion.

They're quite flexible. I work from 7:30 to 4. Sometimes I leave early or stay late depending on well resourced I am. Most others do similar hours. It is not encouraged to work later than usual. I have heard there is a bad work culture where intermediates are over worked and are told to not put the time on their timesheet.

I think that the flexibility to work from home and around appointments is a huge benefit.

The hours are really flexible which means I can work less one day and more another. This is great when travelling for work or personal reasons!

I work 40-42 hours a week. In the past two years I have only worked two 50+ hour weeks when I was travelling for work so part of that was travel time. Several colleagues have gone down to 4 days a week (with and without kids) and there is a high level of flexibility for WFH, appointments, start/finish times etc.
