Crang Civil is a specialist consulting civil engineering practise founded in 2010 by Vaughan Crang. The business is based in Penrose, Auckland and has an additional office in Queenstown.

The company specialises in civil engineering projects including residential and industrial subdivisions, retirement villages, infrastructure and civil site works of building projects. Their staff form partnerships with other specialist companies to ensure the successful delivery of all projects.

Their promise to their clients:

  • Communication – We will regularly communicate with our clients and contractors to ensure there are no surprises. Critical decisions are made together.
  • Timeliness – We know time is money and strive to complete our work as quickly as possible to meet the required timeframes
  • Quality – Our experience concentrating on one speciality ensures a top-quality design and project outcome

A career in land development provides the opportunity to progress through a variety of roles over time. Team members often start in a junior role working in CAD software, learning design as they learn the software. Over time they will progress into a role that involves more technical design, construction observation and interaction. Ultimately people can progress into a project management role where they work with other staff to help them deliver projects. Where people specialise and focus their skills and time is up to them, with some retaining a more technical role and others focusing on client and project management.

Recruitment Process

The Crang Civil recruitment process is about getting to know you. Candidates will be contacted to come into the office or meet online via MS Teams for an interview.

The Crang Team are looking for someone who wants to keep learning and has an interest in what land development work involves.

Remuneration & Career Growth

Staff are hired on a starting salary and this will progress as they develop their skills and role over time.

Once staff begin spending more time on site and doing project management work, they have the opportunity to have a work vehicle to support this role.

The coolest thing about my job is driving past a project I’ve worked on and seeing the land being used for something productive.
