What Graduates Say About Them
  • So many learning opportunities. Get to meet high level executives and have exposure to a wide variety of industries and businesses, listed and non-listed, not for profit, etc. Social benefits of monthly and bi-monthly events. Fast paced learning environment; always learning something new, never "on pause." Support for CAANZ study.
  • The learning and development opportunities, and the culture! Everyone is so nice and helpful - it really contributes to me feeling supported while in my first year of working!
  • The people are welcoming and friendly and there are a lot of company perks. Flexibility to work from anywhere
  • Definitely the people - At all times in a day there is a number of people who are willing to help, and everyone has a plethora of work experience that you can tap into.
  • Getting an experience early in my career that I wouldn't be able to obtain anywhere else
  • Lesser pay compared to other grad roles
  • The study as well as full time work.
  • How quick everyone expects you to pick things up. Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming.
  • Small fish in a big pond. Sometimes stress and hours can be high
  • For some it may seem like the role demands a lot from you as the learning curve is very steep and so there is a risk of drowning yourself if you choose to take on too much.

I applied to a program called Tuputoa which offers Māori and Pacific Island students internships in the summer which landed me an interview with Deloitte. Since then, I received an offer as a graduate and have now been at Deloitte for 6 months and am loving every second of it.
