Gender Equality at EY New Zealand

The EY Gender Inclusion Network is for EY people of all genders and provides opportunities for members to learn and expand their networks by bringing everyone into the conversation to share different perspectives on gender in the workplace.

EY offers 26 weeks of paid parental leave, which can be taken flexibly by either parent during the 24 months after the child(ren)’s birth. There is no required service period to access the leave. This applies to stillborn birth, adoption, and surrogacy and can be taken as block leave or on a part-time basis. All family leave entitlements are inclusive of LGBTQ+ people, regardless of the gender of the EY employee or their partner. This is on top of the Government’s paid parental leave provisions. All parents are supported through the transition to parenthood and return-to-work process, through access to mentoring and a digital coaching platform.

The EY Women in Technology (WiT) Network are committed to creating an inclusive culture to

successfully harness technology’s potential and truly transform society. By educating women and girls, incubating their leadership potential and innovating new ways to empower a diverse technical workforce, we are dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology and creating an environment where everyone can succeed. program supports girls and women to enter, remain, thrive and lead in the world of technology.

We invest in diverse talent for balanced and equitable representation in leadership and commercial areas of focus. Research suggests that without deliberate focus, these opportunities can be delivered in a biased way that is not gender-balanced. Therefore, we have tailored Women in

Leadership programs:

  • Accelerate sponsorship program: Designed for women who are Senior Managers and Directors to accelerate the next generation of women in leadership and future partners.
  • Women Athletes Business Network: Created to address the gap in leadership development for internationally competitive women athletes as they transition from competitor to professional. A combination of mentorship and formal training, the women selected to participate in this program come from the highest ranks of sport and are mostly focused on building entrepreneurial capabilities.
