Nate Healey

I pack up my PPE and head off for a site visit at one of my Ministry of Education major works projects in Hamilton. This meeting includes the client, school principals, Quantity Surveyor and site managers. Frequently run the meeting and will issue minutes following the meeting. Following the meeting, we have a walk around the site to check out the progress and do a Health & Safety review.

7.15 AM

Arrive at work. I spend the first 30-45 minutes of my day setting up for my day, scanning through the emails I received overnight and organising my to-do list (including prioritising urgent tasks).

I arrive back in the office, have some lunch, complete my Health & Safety review, and then get straight into writing my minutes while the meeting is still fresh in my mind.

3.30 PM

With the minutes finalised and Health & Safety inspection complete, I return a few phone calls and delve back into my inbox, diligently attending to emails and resolving any project-related queries that require my attention.

Leave the office and bike home. Once I get home, I get ready to go for a walk up The Mount with my flatmates and catch up on our days. I find biking home & going for a walk is a great way to unwind after a long day at the office.

7.30 PM

It’s time to have some dinner and chill out in the backyard (It’s great in the middle of summer!). As a recently graduated student, I am famous for either my one-pot wonders or a sneaky take-out.

10.00 PM

It’s time to bring my kitten inside, get ready for the day tomorrow and head off to bed early.
