9.2 rating for Recruitment, based on 6 reviews
Please describe the interview process and assessments.
Was always kept up to date with everything - and none of the emails were auto generated. Showed that lots of effort was put into the program. I did an IQ test, phone interview and 2 zoom interviews. Everyone I spoke to was very personable and I loved chatting with them.

The interview process and assessments were very thorough and by far the most complex out of all of the companies I have looked in to. Throughout the process the communication was great and we were kept informed during each step.

The recruitment process was seamless and the best I've ever experienced. We were well informed about our progression through each stage and were communicated the expectations during each interview and assessment. The process began with a aptitude test which was very challenging. Once this first hurdle was overcome it was onto the phone screening, interview, behavioral assessment and then a second interview comprising of a short 10 minute presentation. I felt like I had an awesome understanding of the company after the interviews as staff answered any questions I had and we very friendly / approachable. I felt like the interviews flowed and were conversational and the staff truly cared about my interests. It was great to be able to showcase some of our work during the presentation requirement in one of our interviews. I loved that the panel of interviewers were also staff at Ryman who I now directly report to!

The recruitment team at Ryman were excellent in communicating what the next step was going to be! The interview process was in-depth but gave you the opportunity to express yourself, what you were passionate about and how you could fit in the Ryman family. It involved phone screening, an in-person interview, personality and aptitude testing and finally a presentation on a topic of your choosing.

We were asked about our strengths and weaknesses, what made us want to apply for the programme, skill set, examples of situations where we have problem solved.

This was a long time ago now so I could be a little vague here: 1. Tell us a bit about yourself 2. What interested you in Ryman? 3. Tell us about a time where you received criticism and how did you respond? 4. Describe a time where you worked under pressure and produced desired results

I don't recall too many of them but one that sticks out is related to positively managing group dynamics with tight deadlines.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Read up about the company on the website

Lots of preparation! Look up commonly asked questions online and write out an answer for every one. Research the company and interviewers, learn as much as you can. Be yourself! Relax. If you can't answer something, ask if you can come back to it.

Do your research about the company, really get to know the core characteristics and how you can relate to those. Have some background knowledge about the villages and constructions sites e.g how many are there and that they are all over NZ and Melbourne.

Research, research, research. I hadn't heard of Ryman before I applied for the position. However, upon researching the company it didn't take long for me to determine the company values and their mission which is pivotal to know in the recruitment process. Take a few hours to sit down and reflect on your time at university and past work experiences. What were your highlights, experiences or moments that have made you the way that you are today? Perhaps you achieved the unachievable or simply changed the way you go about your work.

My advice is to give it a go! You'll always miss out on 100% of the opportunities you don't take. Ryman has something for everyone and the graduate programme is the best way to find out what fits you!
