I receive an invite for a site visit from one of the property consultants. Looks like on Monday I will be visiting one of the properties we will soon be taking over for that roundabout. Sounds fun.

8:15 AM

I get to work at our Wellington office, around 8:15 and make a coffee. I say hi to everyone who is catching up in the kitchen and then head to my desk with my packed breakfast. While eating, I look through my emails and calendar for the day. I start to slowly finish off any jobs I happened to leave unfinished the week before.

I head to a meeting with my Property Consultant team meeting at 9:30. Once everyone arrives, the senior consultants take lead and present what work was completed in the last week, what projects we are currently working on, and any upcoming projects. As I am new to the team, they allocated me as a support consultant for a couple of the seniors and explained what my upcoming jobs would entail.

I get back to my desk and carry on with some work, I have just started writing a Report and Conclusion for a Property to be acquired for the new Infrastructure Project, where a section of land is being acquired to be replaced with a new roundabout.

I check for the required information, such as the valuation of the property, photos taken from some site visits, as well as diagrams and maps made by our GIS team, to get an idea of what the new roundabout will look like. While doing this I juggle replying to emails and checking notifications from my most recent residential house listing on behalf of another TPG client. Look like we have some interest!

My stomachs grumbling… its time for lunch. I go into the common area and take my roast veg salad out of the fridge. I pop up on the stools and sit and have a chat with some of my colleagues. After a bit of banter, it is time for the daily quiz. There are 10 general trivia questions that I can’t form the answers to, but luckily enough some workmates with a bit more life experience seem to yet again get 10 out of 10.

After responding to a few more emails, I have a meeting with my manager to go over some new Easement agreements I have prepared. She peers reviews some things I wrote and sends them off to the client to be reviewed.

I have another call with one of the more senior property consultants, they introduce me to another project in Lower Hutt. They give me the context and the background of the project and tells me to look through the information so I can begin to write up a Property Purchase Approval in acquiring the chosen land for this.

I receive an invite for a site visit from one of the property consultants. Looks like on Monday I will be visiting one of the properties we will soon be taking over for that roundabout. Sounds fun! I next respond to a few more queries via email, have a chat with some of the consultants in my pod, then turn back to my computer to make some more progress on my Report and Conclusion.

Oh, look at that! My day has come to an end. I pack up my laptop and grab my activewear and mentally prepare myself to go to the gym. I took a few extra pineapple lumps from the lolly jar so looks like I’m not getting out of it this time! I head off down Lambton Quay, do a quick workout and jump on the bus back to my Newtown flat for dinner.
