How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
My managers are cool.
Graduate, Wellington
My manager is approachable, even though they are very busy they make time to address any questions we have or provide help where needed. They took the time to work on my personal development plan with me and provide clearly feedback about how my work aligns with the wider businesses and where I should focus my development.

Highly individual dependent.

My managers are both readily available on the work floor and I have regular engagement with both my immediate manager and my manager's manager. They are both great and take time to provide candid advice.

Fantastic. Consistently available, good comms and great expectations. Gives opportunities for stretch but doesn't set you up to fail.
Graduate, Wellington
good ppl but not great at managing, haven't been shown how to do things
Graduate, WLN
Very friendly but not a whole lot of openness to discussions around workload or time in lieu; appreciate their imparting wisdom but would struggle to go to them with any issues.
Graduate, Wellington
Very regimented performance feedback structure. Manager quality is dependent on which Division and Team you are placed in, some are great and others, not so much.

Managers at MFAT vary. My Unit Manager is very helpful, although not overly personable. My Divisional Manager does not have much regard for wellbeing or mental health, but is very impressive and can learn a lot from him.
