What Graduates Say About Them
  • Culture, diversity and acceptance accords all levels of the organisation.
  • The people here are very nice and approachable. You never hesitate to tap on someone's shoulder and ask questions at any time
  • The people and the flexibility
  • I really love the flexible working scheme. It means that if I need to pop over to a doctors appointment I can do that. I truly just need to finish my work and make up those hours. That level of trust and responsibility is something that I really appreciate.
  • Everyone is super friendly and eager to help out. I never feel worried about having to ask for help, regardless of how senior the person I am asking is.
  • Waka Kotahi cares about the growth of the new graduates. They understand that this is likely some graduates' first job in the industry and they look after you and want to see your technical and personal skills develop. The culture around the office and team I am a part of is extremely supportive and welcoming.
  • Funding is a key restraint for progress.
  • Government Organisation / but this is also a positive
  • As a graduate sometimes the workload can be light.
  • At the moment, a lot of people are still working from home, which means the office is quiet and I don't get heaps of face-to-face time with my team.
  • Large organisation and sometimes it takes a long time to get things.

I found that the transport company I was working at was very interesting because while I was researching and collecting data, there was some interesting data about how transport works and new ways to deal with transport in general.
