Tash Snowball-Kui

Commencing my day with coffee and a drive to the Palmerston North office, the dynamic nature of my role keeps me engaged!

5.30 AM

I start my day off slow with a coffee while I wait for the vehicle to warm up a little. Depending on the project that I’m working on, the drive into the office is around 20-30 minutes.

7.00 AM

My days in the office are never the same. Today, I am on a large roading project away from the Palmerston North office.

9.00 AM

In the Palmerston North office, the water team has a weekly team meeting with a rotating roaster on who brings snacks. The meeting consists of discussions about the current projects we are all working on and if more work is needed to increase utilisation.

Weekly team meeting

9.30 AM

I join a project review meeting with a client via Microsoft Teams, discussing wastewater renewal pipe installation methods across a critical road in Palmerston North.

10.30 AM

It is not every day we have Summer Interns start in the Palmerston North office. As I am away, I imagine that they are welcomed with a morning tea spread similar to what was supplied during a Thursday Lunchtime Talk at the Palmerston North office.

Lunch time

11.00 AM

I head out on-site to inspect the post pour of shotcrete on a wetland outlet channel.

12.30 PM

Lunch is always a good time of the day. Today’s spread is leftover homemade pizzas.

1.00 PM

For the rest of the afternoon, I am in the office working on construction observation reports for the inspections that were completed, review quality records to sign off process control plan tasks, and construction phase services advice (CPSAs) for the project.

3.30 PM

I finish off my day with a quick chat with my manager on the project as several team members are returning from leave this week.
