About this course

Keep pace with the rapid advances in technology, as well as the technical, business and interpersonal skills required in the field of electrical and electronic technology. This programme will help you to discover what it takes to develop and service electrical and electronics equipment. You'll also learn how to extend your technical, business and interpersonal skills to be able to critically evaluate, problem solve, and work cross-functionally to prepare for supervisory and/or management roles.

Upon graduating from this programme, you'll have a good understanding of the industry, and would have gained transferable skills and confidence in management and problem solving. You'll also be able to use conceptual thinking and innovative technology practice to provide effective industry solutions. Qualification pathway

Once you've successfully completed this programme pathway, you'll receive the qualification: Bachelor of Applied Technology.

    Entry requirements

    For this programme, you need:

    1.

    All t
    he following NZCEA credits
    • 42 NCEA credits or more at Level 3 or higher on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF), with: 14 credits in any two of the following subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Statistics and Modelling, or any other technical domain. And a further 14 credits taken from no more than two additional domains on the NZQF; AND
    • ii.
      a minimum of 14 credits at Level 1 or higher in mathematics or pangarau on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework; AND
    • iii.
      a minimum of eight credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Maori (a minimum of four in reading and four in writing);

    OR a
    relevant qualification at Level 3 on the NZQF or above; OR

    3.

    OR
    International equivalent requirements;

    4.

    OR Recognition of Prior Learning from relevant educational study
