LGBTQ+ at The Warehouse Group

We’re proud to provide our teams with a supportive environment where everyone can bring their whole selves to work!

The best business outcomes begin with a team that feels engaged, welcomed, and free to bring their whole selves to work. When we look back at our core values, ‘Do Good’ ‘Think Customer’ and ‘Own It’ we really mean it!

Part of that involves being avid supporters of the LGBTIQ+ community, and have been able to obtain our Rainbow Tick certification every year since 2019.

Here are a few ways that we walk the talk of supporting our LGBTIQ+ in the workplace: 

  • We participate in annual Pride events to showcase our support towards the LGBTIQ+ community in our organisation and beyond through sponsorships towards the Big Gay Out and Pride Parades in Auckland and Wellington.
  • We are one of the first major organisations in Aotearoa, New Zealand to have a formal Gender Transition Policy providing our employees with an additional 10days of annual leave to support them through their Gender Transition procedures.
  • We want every team member to feel comfortable in bringing their whole selves to work and that is why we introduced the Gender Transition Policy for our transgender community. We are committed to supporting any team member who is transitioning or thinking about transitioning, by developing a personalised plan to ensure they are well supported throughout their journey.
  • Team members are also given the freedom to use their chosen name and gender of choice which they can alter via our Payroll system.

But most importantly we welcome and encourage our teams to be who they are on a day to day basis and ensure everyone is welcome, supported in their own skin!
