Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Formal training has helped in grasping knowledge on the vast amount of Vista products. On the job training has mainly occurred for my role, learning the techniques and methods used by Vista as a business analyst.

For trainingd there are not much expect some meetings with the CEOs, managers and head of engineering and etc. And those are kinda informal in a way? I guess it is just being a software company that doesn't really need a super formal training system. It would be nice to have something like day 1/week 1 checklists for new starters.

The company provides a lot of inductions to introduce the internal workings of the company to the graduates. In terms of programming skills, I have learnt Angular, C#, SQL, as well as build pipelines for CI/CD. This was done less formally.

The training I received was very good as it wasn't just a step by step and it allowed me to actually think and learn for myself

New grads have a buddy who acts as a mentor. Very helpful and makes the onboarding process easy.

The training is comprehensive, but it emphasises the "figure it out" problem solving culture; some tasks are kept vague to encourage independet research.

The on-boarding process was not so-prepared. There was a lack of documentation on how to setup the dev environment. I needed to gather information for different places myself in order to setup the dev environment. There were some training about guideline to follow at Vista in general. But there was no documentation about guideline given to me about coding conventions.

The process could be a bit more structured. It would be nice to get a heads-up on the teams we are going to be in and start learning the relevant tech stacks.
