Our Beca Buildings Team

Across our global footprint, there are endless opportunities for building engineers - in terms of where you live, the projects you work on, and the opportunities and support you have to progress your career. Every building we work on is different, and the challenges we face constantly change. But we know the power of working together to create smart solutions. This means being part of a team that shares ideas across geographies and time-zones, to push boundaries and go beyond conventional approaches. We're also dedicated to developing and sharing technical innovation and sustainable practices. Our past is full of 'world firsts' and the highest accolades for implementing sustainable building principles. Today we are focused on surpassing these achievements by continually challenging and overcoming convention and constraints, to transform our world for the better.

The opportunity

Beca has a network of regional offices throughout New Zealand that lead and support projects of national significance.  Being regionally based gives you the opportunity to have a great work-life balance while growing and advancing in your career in a vibrant and growing professional services organisation.

This is an amazing opportunity for a Graduate Fire Engineer to develop their career amongst a network of over 400 Building Services Engineers across the Asia Pacific.  As a Fire Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery on a wide range of projects. We’re seeking a developing professional with the ability to effectively communicate designs both during design development and for consent and construction; site inspection/reporting and monitoring of construction activities - all in accordance with project programmes and timescales.

The type and scale of buildings we work on are diverse and vast from retail fit-outs to 5 star Green Star offices to University buildings to industrial facilities to new airport terminals and being national and international these could be anywhere from Wellington to Singapore and anywhere in the middle!

About you

You will be completing or have recently completed a Master of Fire Engineering or a Bachelor of Engineering with an interest in taking up a Master of Fire Engineering.  We believe that the best place to learn is on the job, so you can expect to work on real jobs for our client’s right from the start.  You’ll get ongoing support from experienced mentors, development opportunities, support towards professional memberships as well as a yearly graduate conference and access to an established and active graduate social community.
