Sustainability at Beca New Zealand

Beca has set clear environmental goals as a part of our strategy and mission statements going forward. In terms of my business line, we have a dedicated sustainability team for buildings now who assist us with designing better built environment.

They put a high emphasis on this but ultimately the projects we work on are difficult to make better. I believe it is also slow moving

There are initiates for reducing waste to landfills within the office and the Suitability team works to provide solutions for clients.

We have a sustainability team who works on this area while in structural team we have sustainability technical group that focus on implementing sustainability in structrual projects specifically. So I'll say we have done a good job to promote sustainability.

Its the most talked about initiative within the business. we are taking it very seriously across all business lines and ensuring our client's needs are met with this initiative. there is also a lot of internal initiatives being done

more in the projects than in the workspace. Still take a lot of money on projects that are not green centric

engineering environ and planning consultancy climate conciseness is built into the company.

We have designated green teams which promote reductions in environmental footprint

Where possible, the majority of projects incorporate green construction methodologies, taking into consideration that a lot of the carbon footprint is unavoidable in many of the big infrastructure jobs.

This is a growing field every day in the work we do. There is a strong push for green initiatives. The new Beca building being top of class in sustainable design is enough said to be honest.

There is definitely a lot of talk around this but not much has been seen

Certain sections and people apush these agendas more thqan others but the overall care and drive fdrom the higher business levels is there and the want to motivate clients to spend on sustainable construction approaches is strong.
