Diversity at KPMG New Zealand

8.2
8.2 rating for Diversity, based on 21 reviews
Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
Plenty of awareness programs, clubs, and events for ethnic groups, women, and the LGBTQ+ community. I am not sure about the childcare/maternity policies but I have not heard any complaints.

We always have events and learning opportunities centered towards diversity. I have found this extremely useful, and I think it shows that KPMG really cares.

cannot provide any insightful comments as I am not the demographic, however as an outsider I am happy the company is taking steps to be inclusive of others and am in full support.

Seems to be very inclusive and diversity positive, Not much in the day to day you see or hear mostly just online so I have no real interaction around this, but I 100% support it all :)

They have a huge variety of affinity groups and events on every month to celebrate and encourage diversity. I am unsure on the issues as I haven't experienced them

I feel that KPMG is very good at approaching diversity and is very good at making everyone feel welcome. I also feel that they definitely take diversity into account in their daily life's and nothing feels lopsided or unfair on others.

What does your company do to attract applicants from less privileged backgrounds?
Our company has outreach programs and scholarships to schools with low deciles, and the recruitment program is a lot more focused on your personality and how you think rather than purely grades or experience.

We are actively involved in the community so that people know who we are, there appear to be a lot of different support options available - mentorship programs.

I believe that KPMG seeks out people with the KIWA programme where employees mentor current university students and guide them in the right direction in order to land themselves a position at the big 4.
